About SoHo Neighborhood

Neighborhood Map image

Soho, named after its location “SOuth of HOuston street”, is at the lower side of manhattan. It’s famous for having the worlds largest collection of cast-iron buildings; made of pre-fabricated molded cast iron frames and building fronts that were a result of the industrial revolution. Many of Soho’s buildings were manufacturing lofts with tall ceilings and many windows. Recent gentrification turned these unique buildings into artistic residential lofts. Name brands like Lord & Taylor and Tiffany & co have had iconic stores in Soho for over 70 years now. Today, it’s a place for laidback shopping through hundreds of retail shops and boutiques.
