Sheepshead Bay is a relaxed waterfront neighborhood located in southern Brooklyn. The name applies to the neighborhood as well as the bay itself, which separates Brooklyn from the eastern portion of Coney Island. There area contains one of the largest Russian-American populations in NYC. Sheepshead Bay Road, Nostrand Avenue and Ocean avenue are the main commercial areas of the community. Emmons Avenue is a waterfront road with plenty of seafood restaurants and piers where locals enjoy fishing and boating. While luxury condominiums and apartment complexes are prevalent, Madison is an exclusively residential subset consisting of 1970s era single-family homes, located just south of Kings Highway.
