About Midwood Neighborhood

Neighborhood Map image

Midwood is a neighborhood located in the south-central portion of Brooklyn. Housing mostly consists of one and two family detached homes. There are very few rental properties and co-ops but there are a few low-to-mid-rise apartment buildings throughout. Many families are drawn to the affordable housing prices, suburban atmosphere and strong sense of community. It is known for being an Orthodox Jewish community. This is very very evident by the multiple synagogues and yeshivas as well as the fact that most businesses are closed on Saturday. Notable residents have included Woody Allen and Chuck Schumer. Di Fara’s is a famed Brooklyn pie joint that attracts patrons willing to make the trek and wait up to an hour for a freshly baked slice.
