About Brighton Beach Neighborhood

Brighten Beach is a vibrant neighborhood located in the southern portion of Brooklyn. It is also referred to as “Little Odessa” thanks to its solid Russian and Eastern European population. It has multiple restaurants, shops and nightclubs. Many residents prefer it over its less clean and more crowded and touristy neighbor, Coney Island. The beach is free and open to the public. Brighten Beach is more residential but there is a juxtaposition of apartments and private homes. Brighten Beach Avenue is the main strip where you can find most establishments and the boardwalk is just one block over. There are many notable Russian bath houses in the area as well, like Café at Your Mother-in-Law and Russian Baths on Neck Road.
