About Bath Beach Neighborhood

Neighborhood Map image

Bath Beach is a tranquil, primarily residential, area located on the southwestern edge of Brooklyn on Gravesend Bay. The neighborhood’s waterfront walkway lends its way to activities like fishing, biking and jogging. There is a view of Coney Island across Gravesend Bay. It borders Bensonhurst and Dyker Beach Park and Golf Course. Bath beach took a drastic change after World War III, with a massive suburban development by real estate investors. It was once a spa retreat town reserved for Manhattan’s elite with villas, yacht clubs and mansions. The vibe is less cosmopolitan NYC and more Italian coastal village. Bath Avenue is filled with eateries and small businesses and is considered the most bustling area of the neighborhood.
