Morris Heights Apartments for Rent
About Morris Heights Neighborhood
Morris Heights, a large area south of University Heights, is the legendary birthplace of hiphop in the 1970's. It's other claim to fame is that it is home to the tallest buildings in the Bronx--the River Park Towers. To date, no other building has exceeded the height of these towers that overlook Manhattan across the Harlem River. While the past has seen a lot of crime and poverty in Morris Heights, there has in recent years been a number of improvements brought into the neighborhood through public and privately funded projects. Rentals dominate the market and remain affordable. Although Morris Heights is close to the city, you'll only find the 4 train on its outer edge for the local train. There is a MetroNorth commuter stop in the neighborhood, but the other option is to cross the Washington Heights Bridge into Manhattan and take the 1 train.
